Volunteer Orientation at The Filling Station

The 1st Volunteer Orientation and Onboarding Session took place on Feb 17th in the Board Room on campus. 13 volunteers were present for the orientation which included the history of the organization and safety guidelines while serving our clients. “It is our goal to provide orientation and annual training for all individuals associated with The Filling Station.” We are grateful to Garber Methodist Church, one of our church partners, for the donation so educational monitors could be purchased.

Bridging the Communities

Bridging the communities, hand in hand with other non-profits to bring more services to Jones County.  SAVE The DATES: April 8-9, 2022…Begin training now to beat your best all while giving back to an organization who raises fund for 7 non profits. August 27, 2021 was the date set for our 4th anniversary, however, God had different plans for our calendar. With weather delays and paving company schedules, our celebration went VIRTUAL. North Carolina Symphony Brings Music Discovery Program

It has been 2 years planning this wonderful Music Discovery Program by the NC Symphony. In 2019, Mary Ann LeRay met Jason Spencer, Director of Music of Education with the NC Symphony to discuss the possibility of bringing the program to The Filling Station. Last Thursday a gifted musician performed for clients, volunteers, and children from neighboring preschools and a day camp. Dance and Art Camp at The Filling Station Garden Venue

It all began when Joan Taylor, a dance teacher in Jones County, recommended we have a meeting with Elizabeth Pope, Executive Director of Atlantic Dance Theatre. What if we offered an “art and dance camp” at The Filling Station? So, in a matter of 6 weeks, we worked out all the details in order to bring our first-ever, Dance and Art Camp to the new Garden Venue at The Filling Station.
