It all began when Joan Taylor, a dance teacher in Jones County, recommended we have a meeting with Elizabeth Pope, Executive Director of Atlantic Dance Theatre. What if we offered an "art and dance camp" at The Filling Station? So, in a matter of 6 weeks, we worked out all the details in order to bring our first-ever, Dance and Art Camp to the new Garden Venue at The Filling Station. Ages 8-11 from our county (boys and girls), learned new dances and created beautiful art projects. Some of the art pieces are mosaic stepping stones that will remain in the garden.
