- Programs labeled with "Family & Consumer Science" (FCS)" are led by our Jones County FCS Agent, Sarah Ware. These programs focus on areas such as Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Chronic Disease Prevention, Food Safety, Local Food Systems, and Food Preservation.
- Programs tagged with "4-H" are organized by our Jones County 4-H Agent, Samantha Bennett. 4-H provides youth programming with hands-on activities and projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), as well as promoting balanced physical, mental, and emotional health, and encouraging young people to become well-informed citizens actively engaged in their communities and the world.
FCS: Spring Canning Classes: March & April 2025
Preserving your harvest and enjoying seasonal flavors all year round just got easier. Our upcoming canning classes offer hands‐on instruction in two essential preservation methods: water bath and pressure canning. Whether you're new to canning or looking to refine your skills, these sessions provide step‐by‐step guidance from your favorite Family and Consumer Sciences Agent, Sarah Ware at both Jones and Onslow locations.
