Thank you to International Paper for a beautification grant. Weeds have been pulled, dirt was delivered by AB’s Gravel Driveways, and new flowerbeds have begun with caladium bulbs. The walkway has been expanded to accommodate a new design with red bricks highlighted by hand-made mosaic tiles. The building will be more accessible with the expanded walkway and handicapped parking. Thank you again for the volunteers and funding from International Paper.

On Saturday, July 16, 2022, the Board of Directors met at The Father’s Refuge in Dover, NC for the Annual Board Training. Everyone was welcomed by Scott Murphy, Executive Director of The Father’s Refuge and served a home-cooked meal. (https://mxnetwork.org) Mary Ann LeRay, Executive Director, and Cathy Smith, Strategic Planning Consultant led the training for the afternoon. In May 2022, Linda Mathiasen made a visit to The Filling Station to present a $1500 check to the mission of assisting unmet needs in the areas of Nutrition, Education and Connection. Jones Onslow has offered support, media coverage and critical financial resources since Hurricane Florence.
