Congressman Greg Murphy visits The Filling Station

Congressman Greg Murphy scheduled a meeting with Mayor Jay Bender to visit The Filling Station on Feb. 15, 2023. Upon arrival, Congressman Murphy met Mary Ann LeRay, Executive Director, Dr. Norma Sermon- Boyd, John Bender and Willie Smith, all active board members for The Filling Station. In addition, Sherry Henderson and Vic Bryan, Town Board members were present. Carol Mattocks, Board Advisor, was also present for the meeting. Food Pantry is attracting New Volunteer teams as summer heats up

School is Out…Summer is Here…Volunteer Teams are growing As the pandemic lingers and fuel prices soar, the need for food support is increasing as we move into the summer months. Summer kids bags have been prepared with non-perishable snacks, hygiene items and a coloring book. Now that school is out, requests for this critical support is on the rise. We are blessed to partner with incredible organizations like Jones County Partnership for Children, Coastal Women’s Shelter, N.C. Cooperative Extension and the church partners to identify needs quickly and fill them.

Pike seeks to give back to Jones County

Landon Pike reached out to The Filling Station in the Fall of 2021 to learn how he could partner in giving back to the county where he grew up.  After several planning meetings with the Eagle Scout leader and presenting to the scout board, the project was approved. Pop Up Raleigh is celebrating its 10th year supporting small businesses. This is event happens on the 3rd Saturday of each month on the campus of Trophy Brewery located on Maywood Avenue in Raleigh, NC NEW this year…a charitable partner is chosen to set up at the event.
