Jones County Government will begin accepting supplies to help with relief in Western North Carolina beginning tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM at the Jones County Civic Center. A flyer will be uploaded to social media pages within the hour. Emergency Management and Law Enforcement staff are coordinating the effort to take these supplies to a preferred location to exhaust any chaos. Supplies will be accepted until otherwise noted. Coordination has begun with the Volunteer Fire Department to see what members are prepared to volunteer by way of QRV or tankers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Jones County receives a permanent replica of the Charters of Freedom at the Jones County Civic Center. A grand celebration of freedom and patriotism took place today in Trenton, North Carolina, as the 62nd Charters of Freedom setting nationwide was dedicated at the Jones County Civic Center, located at 832 NC Hwy 58 South, Trenton, NC 28585. This setting, the 37th of its kind in North Carolina, includes full-scale replicas of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Civil Rights Amendments. The Filling Station in partnership with the New Bern Amateur Radio Club will be holding a Ham Radio Licensing Class for the General Class License. It is recommended that students hold a current Technician Class License. The Class is open to all ages and will prepare the students for the FCC Element 3 exam, General Class.
